In cooperation with the Bremer Institut fuer Bildungsforschung (BIBF, Institute for Education Research), the Institut Technik und Bildung (ITB, Institute Technology and Education) and the advertising agency construktiv GmbH, the Institute for Information Management Bremen (ifib) will develop the video community platform draufhaber.tv.
Young people in their vocational orientation, apprentices, young employees and job seekers shall show in their own video films which technical skills and capabilities they have or can explain well. Thus they can build up a competence profile for their vocational development within the draufhaber.tv community. The aim of the project is to merge the target group-specific, more informal use of a video platform with formal education processes. This will open up new ways to make use of Web 2.0 technologies for innovative education processes.
During three phases, different user groups will be tapped and the portal developed (further) accordingly. In the first phase, the portal and the community of the draufhaber.tv video films will be established. During the second phase, the portal will be consolidated by adding explanatory and remix videos of the so-called “dab hands”. These are users who are already rather competent. In the third phase of the project, teachers (“masters”) will be involved in the use of the platform; consolidation will be ensured by establishing a suitable business model and extending the system.
ifib’s task in the project is requirement management and quality assurance connecting agile development methods with traditional procedures of requirement management. Together with the BIBF, we will develop use scenarios and application cases. The resulting requirements will be used for the implementation of the platform in close cooperation with construktiv. Regular usability tests will support quality assurance evaluating aspects such as usability and usefulness (including accessibility) as well as legal requirements (protection of data, personal rights, and minors). In the third phase, ifib – cooperating with ITB – will develop strategies for the transfer into other educational sectors.
