How can the regional institutions provide access to information and communication technologies for all children and young people and teach them the necessary competencies? Schools are the learning places where all young people have the opportunity to take part in education. Therefore it is important to provide access to the infrastructure in schools and to enable learners and teachers to handle it responsibly and competently.

In several investigations in German cities, ifib developed comprehensive know-how on how schools use media, how the use can be improved and which concepts are required for a sustainable embedding. So we prepared comprehensive studies on the media use in schools in Bremen, Frankfurt, Aachen, Munich, Bremerhaven and Gießen, which show the relevance of schools for the access to new media.
