Data protection declaration of the Institut für Informationsmanagement Bremen GmbH

We are pleased about your visit to our web pages. In the following we would like to inform you about the handling of your data in accordance with Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Person in charge

Controller of the data collection and processing described below is the organisation named in the imprint.
When the ifib and ifib consult websites are accessed, a data record is created with the following data:

  • IP address,
  • Page from which the html file was requested,
  • Name of the file,
  • Date and time of the query,
  • transmitted data volume,
  • Access status (file transferred, file not found etc.)
  • Type of web browser used.

We store this data for the duration of seven days, in the interest of being able to detect, limit and eliminate attacks on our websites. After this period, we delete or make the IP address anonymous. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Contract data processing

These data are stored on a web server of WebMen Internet GmbH, Bremen, which is responsible for the operation of our web pages. It is strictly bound by instructions and may only process the data within the scope of our assignment pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

Data transfer to third countries

Your data will not be transferred to third countries.

Cookies und Tracking

On our website we use the open source program Matomo (formerly Piwik, more information at Externer Link www.matomo.org) for statistical analysis of visitor access. Matomo uses so-called cookies. Cookies are small text files that can be stored and read on your terminal device. A distinction is made between session cookies, which are deleted as soon as you close your browser, and permanent cookies, which are stored beyond the individual session.

We only use session cookies. Processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 f GDPR in the interest of optimising user guidance.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of our internet offer is stored on the server of the provider in Germany. The IP address is made anonymous immediately after processing and before it is stored.

Alternatively, you can counteract the above procedure at any time by creating an opt-out cookie. To do this, please activate the box in the field below. Please note that when you delete the browser cookies, this cookie is also deleted, so that you may have to activate it again the next time you visit our site.

Weblog

In the ifib weblog you have the possibility to comment. It is up to you whether you add personal information such as name or e-mail address to your contribution. To avoid comment spam, the IP address of the sending computer is transmitted when comments are received and stored for a period of six months. If you have provided the commentary with personal data, these will be made available on the Internet for the entire publication period of the commented article. The deletion of own comments can be requested informally from the data protection officer.

We offer that you contact us via a pre-addressed e-mail. By clicking on the e-mail link you leave this website. The e-mails are stored on a server of our processor Microsoft as part of the Microsoft Office 365 service. Your rights as a data subject

When processing your personal data, the GDPR grants you certain rights as a data subject: 

Right to information (Art. 15 GDPR) 

You have the right to request confirmation as to whether personal data concerning you is being processed; if this is the case, you have a right to information about this personal data and to the information listed in detail in article 15 of the GDPR. 

Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) 

You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate personal data concerning you and, if necessary, the completion of incomplete data without delay. 

Right to deletion (Art. 17 GDPR) 

You have the right to request that personal data concerning you be deleted without undue delay, provided that one of the reasons listed in detail in article 17 of the GDPR applies. 

Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) 

You have the right to request the restriction of processing if one of the conditions listed in article 18 of the GDPR is met, e.g. if you have objected to the processing, for the duration of the review by the controller. 

Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) 

In certain cases, which are listed in detail in article 20 of the GDPR, you have the right to receive the personal data concerning you in a structured, common and machine-readable format or to request the transfer of this data to a third party. 

Right of withdrawal (Art. 7 GDPR) 

If the processing of data is based on your consent, you are entitled to revoke your consent to the use of your personal data at any time in accordance with article 7 (3) oft he GDPR. Please note that the revocation is only effective for the future. Processing that took place before the revocation is not affected. 

Right of withdrawal (Art. 21 D GDPR SGVO) 

If data is collected on the basis of article 6 (1) p. 1 lit. f oft he GDPR (data processing for the protection of legitimate interests) or on the basis of article 6 (1) p. 1 lit. e oft he GDPR (data processing for the protection of public interest or in the exercise of official authority), you have the right to object to the processing at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation. We will then no longer process the personal data unless there are demonstrably compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims. 

Right of complaint to a supervisory authority (Art. 77 DSGVO) 

Pursuant to article 77 of the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you are of the opinion that the processing of data relating to you violates data protection provisions. The right of complaint may be asserted in particular before a supervisory authority in the Member State of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.
