Doreen Büntemeyer completed her Master of Education in Biology and English at the University of Osnabrück in 2020. She then began her doctorate, which she intensified and continued during her traineeship and as part of the doctoral scholarship 'Die Duale Promotion in der Lehrer*innenbildung'. Since February 2023, she has been working as a research assistant at the Institute for Information Management Bremen in the 'LFB-Labs-digital' project. Her doctoral project focuses on the interplay between artificial intelligence (AI) and education, especially in biology education. Her aim is to research the responsible use of AI (AI literacy) in biology lessons. She is investigating how biology lessons can be used to support students in using AI in a reflective way in the classroom. In addition, her project focuses on the effects of using AI technologies on subject-specific competences. The project is being carried out in collaboration with the Institute for Didactics of Natural Sciences at the University of Bremen.
